GSYR Scholarship Program
 

The Grand Strand Young Republicans are proud to provide a $500.00 scholarship to an Horry County high school senior who plans to pursue a degree from Coastal Carolina University.

To qualify for the scholarship, the candidate must meet the following requirements:

*Be a U S citizen and resident of Horry County, SC

*Be registered to vote, if eligible

*Be eligible for graduation from an accredited high school in Horry County

*Be an incoming freshman at Coastal Carolina University

*Have a GPA of at least 3.0

*Submit a copy of your most recent transcript

*Complete the application form

*Submit a 1-2 page essay addressing the following topic:

Explain the importance of youth involvement in the political process and voting. How do you plan to get involved?

*Submit one letter of recommendation from someone who is not a relative. Include contact information for the individual that signs a letter of recommendation.

Applications must be received by April 30, 2010.
